LinkedIn API pricing
LinkedIn's API costs nothing per call. Access is the price.
There's no per-post fee from LinkedIn. What you pay in is approval time, scope limits, 60-day token refreshes and version migrations.
The short answer · Updated Nov 1, 2026
LinkedIn doesn't publish per-request prices for its posting APIs. Creating member posts with w_member_social is available to any app through the self-serve Share on LinkedIn product. Posting as a Company Page needs Community Management API approval, and reading member posts is closed to new applicants. The practical costs are review time, 60-day access tokens and keeping up with versioned headers.

From LinkedIn's docs on Microsoft Learn, read 2026-11-01. LinkedIn's docs list no per-call price for these products.

Does LinkedIn charge for API access?
No per-call fee is published for posting. The Posts API, Share on LinkedIn and Community Management API pages describe permissions, tiers and rate limits but no prices, so a post you create through LinkedIn's API costs nothing from LinkedIn.
Many results for "LinkedIn API pricing" are about third-party data APIs that scrape profiles and charge per lookup. Those are separate companies with their own pricing, not LinkedIn's official API. For publishing posts, the official Posts API is the route this page prices.
What does Community Management API approval involve?
The Community Management API is how an app posts as a Company Page and reads page analytics. LinkedIn calls it a vetted product with two tiers: a development tier with limited call volume, then a standard tier you apply for with a screencast showing each use case on your access form.
The development tier allows 500 requests per app and 100 per member per day. LinkedIn only lets you request it on a new developer app that has no other API products; if you already have Advertising API access, LinkedIn's FAQ describes creating a second app for verification, then adding standard access to the original.
Partners also go through a technical sign-off against LinkedIn's integration requirements. None of this has a published fee; it costs calendar time and a working product to demo.
When is LinkedIn's own API the cheaper choice?
If you post to your own LinkedIn profile and nothing else, the direct API is the cheapest option: free, self-serve, and two OAuth calls plus one post request. Budget a reconnect every 60 days and a version bump now and then.
If you need Company Pages, LinkedIn's own API with Community Management approval is currently the only option we'd recommend, because we don't post to pages yet. A unified API earns its keep when you post to LinkedIn and other networks together, or for many people's profiles, and want token expiry handled with a webhook instead of a support ticket. For agents, see the LinkedIn MCP server.
Questions
What developers ask
Does LinkedIn charge for API calls?
Not for posting. LinkedIn's docs for the Posts API, Share on LinkedIn and the Community Management API list permissions, tiers and rate limits but no per-call prices. Access is gated by approval rather than metered. Third-party LinkedIn data APIs do charge, but they are separate companies, not LinkedIn.
Is the LinkedIn Posts API free for personal profiles?
Yes. Add the self-serve Share on LinkedIn product to your developer app to get w_member_social, run OAuth, and post as the member at no charge. The Share on LinkedIn page lists 150 requests per member and 100,000 per application per day.
How do I get Community Management API access?
Apply from a new developer app with no other API products. You start on a development tier with 500 requests per app and 100 per member per day, then apply for the standard tier with a screencast of each use case. No fee is published.
How long do LinkedIn access tokens last?
LinkedIn currently issues access tokens with a 60-day lifespan. Programmatic refresh tokens are available to a limited set of partners only, so most apps send members back through OAuth every 60 days. Through our API, the account flips to needs_reauth and a webhook fires.
Can I get r_member_social to read LinkedIn posts?
Not at the moment. LinkedIn describes r_member_social as a closed permission and says it isn't accepting access requests due to resource constraints. Apps that only post don't need it: LinkedIn returns the new post's id in the x-restli-id header when the post is created.
What do you charge per LinkedIn post?
Nothing per post. You pay per active account per month, meaning an account that published that month on any network. Posts are unlimited on paid plans. Free covers 3 active accounts and 100 posts a month; Hobby is $9 for 5 accounts.
