Upload-Post is a unified social media API that publishes to 22 platforms with one call and adapts content to each one's aspect ratios, file sizes and caption lengths. Its homepage names agencies, SaaS products adding social posting, creators, e-commerce businesses and developers as its audience. It includes an FFmpeg API for video encoding, analytics, AutoDM monitors, and a white-label API with a branded connect page for resellers.

Its MCP server is open source under MIT, has nearly 60 tools for publishing, scheduling, analytics, comments and DMs, and runs hosted at https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp (API key or OAuth); the docs describe a local npx install once the package is published to npm.

The base URL is https://api.upload-post.com and the auth header is Authorization: Apikey your-api-key-here. Publishing goes through POST /api/upload for videos, photos, text and documents, usually as multipart form data. A profile is identified by a username and holds that client's connected accounts; GET /api/uploadposts/users lists profiles, and the Connect API issues authorize links that must be used within 15 minutes (JWT access links from the user-profile integration last 48 hours). The docs note Reddit is currently unavailable and returns HTTP 503 reddit_unavailable.

Video and coverage. Upload-Post posts video to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram today, has an editor and encoding built in, and covers 22 networks. We don't post video on any network yet, and our live networks today are X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Mastodon and Telegram. If you post short-form video, use Upload-Post.

Per-client pricing at scale. Because one profile covers every network a client uses, Upload-Post can cost less than we do when every client is active on several networks: 25 clients on three networks each is $50 there and $79 here, and 75 clients is $147 against $172.75, as the table shows. It also has a real free tier with API and MCP access.

We're built for text and image posts sent by an agent or an app, and for knowing exactly what happened. Preflight checks each post against each network's limits before sending and returns text_too_long or duplicate_content with a fix. Each account gets its own receipt: status, URL, external post id, attempts and a structured error. Idempotency keys stop a retried request from double-posting, and signed webhooks report post.published or post.failed.

Billing follows activity, not connections: a client who didn't post this month costs nothing. X link costs aren't an add-on; X fees pass through at cost with an included credit on paid plans (see X API pricing). Our MCP server and full docs are on Free.

A profile username maps to external_ref: create a connect link per client with external_ref set to that username, then list the client's accounts with GET /v1/accounts?external_ref=.... Our connect links last 7 days by default (300 seconds to 30 days). Authorization: Apikey ... becomes Authorization: Bearer sk_.... POST /api/upload with a user and platform list becomes POST /v1/posts with JSON: accounts, text, media as public URLs, and scheduled_at. Video posts have no equivalent yet.
